Lame title, lame drawing, lameness times a thousand. Only submitting this to hold you guys over until I finish a MASSIVE piece I'm working on now.
A practice piece I did to try and improve my inking technique. I'm trying to get cleaner, less error-ridden results traditionally so I won't have to do so much editing digitally, but it seems like I still have a long way to go. At least this drawing didn't turn out too bad (though it took two attempts to get it just right). I later added color for the hell of it. Instead of using my usual digital painting method though, I used an old coloring technique that I used waaay back in my early dA days that involves the select tool and gradients. I thought a more comic book-esque look would suit this pic. (I also did not feel like spending several weeks coloring this either, LOL)
So there you have it. Just Armin and Fairfax, the main characters of my story-thing, posing beside some dull red light (I use too many cool colors; wanted to use a warm color this time). You may notice some very slight changes to Fairfax's appearance since the last piece he was in; I'm still trying to figure out a way to make Fax less feminine-looking without dramatically changing his design. I have been making decent progress, though I'm a little iffy about how he looks here. Better luck next time?
Medium: .05, .1, .3, and .5 pigment pens, India ink, and PSCS2. Characters and artwork are mine.
EDIT: Tweaked the lines on Armin's face that made him look "dopey", as suggested by ~thebrokendisk.
the inking looks very good. I would say the only complaint I really have is that the expression on Armin's face looks kind of dopey. Good job nontheless, can't wait to see this big piece.

Nothing short of phenominal. Sure, the concept might SEEM lame. But.
Putting myself in your shoes, if I drew two of my original characters back to back with an odd light source, I'd say 'lame as a llama!!!!one!!!" in my mind as well.

It's still flippin' awesome. The glow is a nice effect, and I really love the skin tones. Armin and Fax, looking as drop dead sexy as ever. Your clothing technique is getting gorgeous!

The butter legion- a socialist movement/mass colab project I started, to trigger artistic change and evolution in Da artists (mainly my watchers), to make them more active and dedicated on DA. Now 170 people strong and growing... A "dangerous cult"? a "new religion"? "artistic version of fight club" or "communist movement"? You decide!
Hello there! This news article is the result of a thumb share thread I posted few days ago on the dA forum along with pictures from my favorites. I hope you enjoy them.
